Cupertino kickoff meeting
On June 26th, 2018, a group of 33 experts from all around the world gathered at the original Apple headquarters at One Infinity Loop. We spent the day listening to presentations from all stakeholders: building owner and builder, glass processors, tempering furnace and scanner manufacturers, academic researchers.
With masters Julia Schimmelpenningh and Rick Wright, I chaired an ASTM task group to set a new standard method to evaluate anisotropy. We picked the resources needed from this palette of genius people. After 20 months, 16 meetings and three ballots, C1901-21 was born to provide glass fabricators with measurement method. All stakeholders can now dialogue on a measured number.
