We worked hard on getting this one, but Eckelt won the curtain waller Schmidlin’s favour. I remember that Foster designed this to be the Eiffel tower of London. In the first pages of the drawings package you could read: “Design this for a 125 year lifespan” I thought that was a pretty amazing statement.
